Ornge you glad we have Health Minister Deb Matthews looking after Ontario’s health care system? Sadly this is not funny at all and the joke is on all citizens of Ontario.Minister Matthews has stated that she was not aware of the goings on at Ornge so should not be held accountable for this latest health care fiasco and will not resign from her post. In his defence Dr.(?) Chris Mazza has taken the position that the health ministry was always aware of the goings on at Ornge so by keeping silent they implied approval. Really? These are the two parties at the Ornge table? This is the best we can do? This is the value we get for our tax dollar? This is the type of leadership that $1.4 million per year buys? No wonder this ministry has been such a colossal disaster.
To restore some credibility to this ministry, and the health care system in general, Minister Matthews must step down. Now!
If oversight of her ministry is not her responsibility then whose is it? No, the buck stops with Matthews and she must pay the price. If not then what message are the Liberals giving to the entire Ontario public service? Do your job or not, you won’t be held accountable. Nice, nice, very nice. Sweet gig.
Since Matthews refuses to take responsibility and resign then Premier McGuinty must do the job for her. The health portfolio is yet another embarrassment for the Liberals so its fascinating that McGuinty hasn’t taken action yet to at least try to salvage some respect for his party.
But then again, why would McGuinty and company start working on behalf of Ontario’s citizens now? Guiding our province into economic oblivion has worked for the Liberals so far so why change course now? Down the economic toilet, full speed ahead.
Sadly the problems uncovered at Ornge are not limited to the health ministry. The Ontario Liberals have a dysfunctional government that is quickly destroying the province, and that is no (knock, knock) joke.
